Car :$350-400
Motor: $900 Reman
Belts: $20
Wheels: just counting the 16" meshies $100
Suspension: Free lol, cut stockers and KYB Gr2's, but will be getting coilovers after tax returns dont worry guys. But I will say for those who question cut springs. It's not as bad as you think. I can actually handle the car much better than I did with lowering springs. Just do the job right thats all.
Paint/body: Only like $30 so far, prepping the paint right now actually to get sprayed. I figure paint will cost $300-400 for a decent single stage and I will probly have my good friend JunPower shoot it for me.
Regular expenses on some tools, fluids, etc : $200
So, in all I've only spent like $1600 and the car was just a shell. Its already a pretty competitive car if you've seem me drive it. Just wait for the events out here and I will try to get some footy for you guys.

From my good ol friend JunPower ( Peter) He had a vert' rx7 that someone gave him and it had a brand new reman motor and auto tranny. I bought the motor off him as soon as I could. I love it so much.
Update 3-2-2007
Well, I still have a lot of body work to do and right now the car is all mixed up but it will look good once painted. I kinda like the skittle look lol. As the say it's Boro
I got a few new goodies as well check em out!

New Seat for only $170 w/corolla bracket, but I'll sell the bracket for $50. so that's only $120!!!

I'm finally gonna get to the brakes so my car will stop lol. Bought two new front rotors for the front from kragen. Then I got lucky and found two rear cross drilled rotors at the junkyard off a 10th AE. Then I also found some braided brake lines off the car too, I got em for free!!! What a deal!! I was so excited!

So with the new parts I spent
-Corbeau Seat = 120
-Front Rotors = 60
-Rear Rotors = 15 (still need to be resurfaced though so add 20) = 35
-Braided lines = free!!!
-Seat Bracket = 50 for a pair of them from a friend

SON OF A B, i have been lookin for those wheels!!! what kind of mecury are they off of? i have been looking for the ford crown victoria rims but i cant seem to find the deep dish ones.
If you think your car needs bodywork you should see mine. My car isnt in bad condition but it could be in perfect condition with some bodywork and paint, but your car looks like it needs much less bodywork then mine...I know I make mine sound bad but majority of the bodywork mine needs is from a minor accident that pushed the left side of the front bumper in and caused the hood to misalign and the hood was also bent too (needs replaced) aside from that I have some rust spots and small dings (which is normal for most 2nd gens , especially from up north where mine is from Rhode Island)
Your cars looking great brotha, I wish I was that frugal about up-grades. When do you plan on hitting the track? If it's local like Sears Point, or Sonoma I might check it out. P.S. if you need some help give me a ring.
^ Thanks man, remember the guy that gave ya the T2 hood. Well, the original hood from that vert is what's on my car lol. I got parts from everywhere. I was hoping to go to a drift event next weekend but I just missed the registration. I waited to long for it and it filled up, but there is another drift event coming up in April from the same people and I plan on going. Hopefully I'll be able to get coilovers before the April event. It should handle very nice
Aside from that the car is doing well. I just need to do paint, coilovers, alignment, and some tires. I think I'll be good for now. Then slowly start adding more.

thats one hell of a bargain project car. Looking really good w/ those wheels.
Any idea what shes weighing?
and do you have a flywheel yet? I would think that would be one of those must have things.
I know it is on my s4 t2. 28lb brick of a flywheel, I opted for a 11lb SR aluminum. So should be about 14 or so w/ counterweight.
I can't wait to get my car back together again!!!

so they won't fit? (unless i get spacers?)
what size spacers do you think i should look for?
Not sure on the weight yet I've had to save at least a couple hundred pounds by now. I just need to get rid of the sunroof and I'll be pretty much done with the weight reduction part of it.

Yes flywheel will be installed. I'm currently looking for a better low mileage tranny out there that I will probly rebuild. Once I find a tranny, I'll do the clutch, flywheel, and probly driveshaft too.
I might be I was dumb and waited to long to register, but a friend just told me he might have an open spot for me. If so that'll be great so I can go out. The car isn't really ready but it'll be good practice. I haven't been out drifting since August!!! I'm probly gonna be a lil rusty out there but hopefully everything will be good. If not I should probly be there at least watching.

Aight man for sure. Yea I remember way back before they redid altamont I used to be out there all the time at the ncda events. But ncda is no more lol. I'll be out there for sure if I get this spot. You'll see my red/blk/blue/white fc out there lol.
