That's exactly why... It's amazing how much a little diet can make an FC look like a monster truck...

Oh I know I have that video on my comp. I also have Reted's page on FC3S bookmarked. I know all about the low polar movement. What I meant to say was that they aren't the easiest cars to drift, but it is very possible. Just takes a lil practice.

Well back to the project. I slowly started chipping away the sticky sound deadening gunk in the back. In an hour I only got the portion behind the drivers seat. I still have to get the hatch part and the part behind the passenger seat. Then I'm gonna sand it, primer it, and paint it. Not sure if I want to paint it red again. I might paint the interior metal black cause the car is gonna have this red and blk paint scheme.

Minus the body kit though.

*update
I finally got the cherry picker a week later than I expected. I'm pulling the motor tomorrow morning, and will be giving the engine bay a good cleaning. The paint in the engine bay is great just needs to be cleaned. I got almost all the sound deadening gunk in the back except the flat portion of the hatch. I'll remove all of that tomorrow too and hopefully have it down to bare metal and ready for sanding and primer. That's it for now. I also have to pull the auto pedals, gauge cluster, blah blah blah. I'll take pics when I'm done.

I never posted a good pic of how faded the paint used to be. This should give you a good idea.

As compared to now

I am doing the same thing but also for another reason. I want to save up a butload of cash and buy a 13bre and doing a single turbo setup and do it the right way. And the whole learn to drift without turbo first. Even though I have spent about 7k on my whole na machine so far(engine build and mods).

Okay well engine bay is all ready for the swap. I cleaned it and it's ready to go. I finally got all the gunk out the rear part. In the pic there is a bunch of lil pieces left but now it's all pretty much metal. I actually started a lil primering and will paint tomorrow too. The motor is coming out the black car tomorrow and will be going into the red car. I took my black car out for one last drift run and I must say it was the best consistant run I've ever had. I don't think it wants to go, but it's time I'll get pics with the new motor in and such. But here are these for now.

Curious as to why you didn't keep the black car as a DD, and build up the red car to be a track car?

Tessai: I could do that with the blk car but it's got some frame damage and on a straight smooth surface it's fine but once a lil bump or uneven surface comes into play the suspension wanders around. It's very uncomfortable and makes me a lil uneasy. Plus I want a cheapo honda or something that's good on gas.

Darksider: I'm leaving the engine bay the way it is. I'm painting the interior part in the back after removing all that gunk back there. The exterior will also get repainted but that's a lil bit further down the road.

Well, the car runs now. I can't drive it yet but it runs. I would of had it all done today, but cause of some unprepared people I couldn't finish!!! I helped a coworker move today and they took my entire day cause they were unprepared! I only worked on it for 3 hrs but I got it all put together (mechanically) and it fried right up. I used Kevin Landers method for the custom tranny mount, Auto-5spd conversion, and it seems a lil iffy. So, I am gonna use it for now but will make a better one. If you got any suggestions let me know. It's gonna be put under a lot of stress! For drifting, and road racing so....you get the idea. But yea I will get pics when I buy new batteries. I'm just so pissed right now cause I could've used my day off to finally have the car on the road instead I helped this woman!!!

Kick ***! And not to worry Alex, karma will repay you for helping out the stranded lady. It's always worth it to help someone in need.

I can't wait to see this car at the next NorCal drift event.

Welp motor runs great now. The check engine light had come on when I fired her up and it ran a lil funny, but then I realized I forgot to hook the pressure sensor...doh!!! haha but it sounds great.

One quick question though. I installed some new OMP lines I made myself and there isn't any oil in them yet, BUT I only have ran the motor for about 1 min contstantly and had to shut it off. There is no exhaust right now so it's super loud in my garage. I heard it takes about 20-30 mins for the vacuum to build up in the OMP lines and bring oil through the lines to the motor, is this true? Just curious that's all.

Well, here's some quick clips of the car. It's pretty much done except I need to put the exhaust back on, install my 4pots up front, and bleed the system. This is just so I can drive it. I still need to install my LSD and oh the alignment up front as well.

*Sorry pics suck cause it's in a dark garage w/crappy camera

I know rotors are a lil rusty : /

I still have to do some things for it to be finished but in only 20-24 working hours I got the car from nothing to what it is now. I will probly start driving the car tomorrow and everything should be in order. I will take better pics after a good washing too.

Okay I now have manual windows and can roll the window down! Well, now the car is pretty much set-up the same as the BLK car except it handles a lot better! Here are some pictures so far. Now I'm gonna save up for the goodies.

No more black car but I can't wait to get more for this one
Well, I built this car from nothing in about 4-5days and that includes still going to school and working. I just worked on it when I had time and this is it. I took everything out this car, everything out the blk car, and put everything from the blk car to the red car. A lot of work but I'm proud of myself.

It's gonna be used to practice the widebody I wanna do. It's gonna be a do it yourself widebody but for the rear I might just buy some overfenders and rivet em on there. After I'm done with it it will be junked. The frame is just gone on the front.
