Blew New Engine before breakin !!!

Yup , the first 2nd gen to have mid 13s (soposevly) with time slips and dyno results just blew up so im retiring to go to colledge and selling the car.

My ? is what caused this one to blow so early ???

My rear header runner to the rear rotor was glowing red hot...And my timing was advanced alot. The car did run really hot but the temp gauge and oil were completly fine ???

Compression numbers are as follows

Front rotor HOt engine
1.5-1.6-4.8
= 254 RPMs
Rear Rotor
5.3-3.8-4.1

I replaced all injectors just in case one was running lean...Nope still ran shitty

Then replaced all plugs and wires as well.
Still shitty

No leaks or anything whatsoever , all silicone vac hoses exc...

Compression shitty , wtf ?

from my understanding, a hot rebuilt motor doesnt have alot of compression as it is still being broken in...

Dood you have to be kidding. The car will barely start. YOu dont understand even when you first click the ignitionj on a new motor it should make more than 1.5 ???

The car sounds like ***. Its obviously blown. WE already established that.

sorry to hear about it dude. if you want to make some money selling some parts to me, I'll be happy to oblige

btw, I know it's a little late for this question, but how were you planning on passing smog with that huge port job?

also, it's likely the engine blew because of the ports, if all the other mods were not altered while the engine was out.

Yes your right..Wich makes me think that it was the timing being way to far advanced making it run hot.

I dont care about smog. I just wanted to drag it at the Q and the new stadium.

Hey if you into autocross or road course you should use my centerforce flywheel. It made an awsome diff on my car. But im trying to sell it whole first

Take your header off and peak into the exhaust ports to see what's up, or if you're seals are still there!

Dont pull the engine out, wtf lol. Take off the header and look in the exhaust ports with a mirrior. Turn the engine over by hand until you view all the seals.

Ok like its not the sealz already lol. I rebuilt this engine almost by myself with the aid of a profesional. And I did all the mods in my sig. I know when I have a blown engine...Look at the comp numbers. Dont tell me a just have a stuck seal.

Just so you know, if you don't want someone to give their opinion, don't post on a public forum.

Definately pop off the header and stick your fingers in.. see if each of the apex seals spring properly.... looks like one front one is not sealing. You still can't jump to conclusions... but even if it is stuck, it sucks that you have to tear it apart to fix it.
Ya, and loose the attitude! hehe

Sorry its just since I got this car I have been spendign all my money on it. And even lost my girlfriend , spend all my time every weekend on it for the last year and a half even more. Then I rebuild the engine and spent all my savings , found out that I owe taxes , school loan exc and then my new engine blows that I didnt even get to test drive and nobody will give me some sort of discount. I had helped and still payed half labor for doing alot of the work but i didnt blow it up. The meckanic did. And its not even warentied. Now i have to sell it to make up half the losses.

so autotech won't even give you a break on a rebuild? that's absolutely ridiculous. depending on how much of the work was done by you, you could possibly sue them for your losses, although they probably don't have any money to pay out anyway. but you could "seize" that 20B in their office

it depends on how well the rebuild was done...
in my opinion (maybe not worth very much)

if you use old housings, and new apex seals and such you will need time for the apex seals to seat to the old housings.

also it depends on how good the tolerences are to the specs... if they are out of spec when measured when doing the rebuild then it won't be so great for a while until everything seats itself.

How many miles on your motor? Have you check your wiring harness? Some of my wires cracked and my car only ran on one rotor for 500 miles.
