Bleeding radiator without bleeder plug

I was pouring in new antifreeze yesterday when I ran into a problem. It turns out I have an aftermarket Calsonic radiator that does not have a bleeder plug on the left side like the stock radiator. Maybe its someplace else but I cant locate it!

When I started the engine the low coolant buzzer went off and I quickly shut it off. Then I attempted to fill up the radiator some more but could only get a little more in. Overall I probably managed to get a little more then a gallon of coolant it. I tried letting the fc fun with the heater on but that doesn’t seem to bleed out the air.

I recently drove the car around and the buzzer did not go off, do you guys think I have enough coolant in the system? If not how do I get more in?

make sure your coolant sensor is in tightly, my buzzer would go off at first and after I took it out and put it back tight never went back off.

Okay here is another concern of mine. Before I did the radiator flush, I noticed that the overflow tank was bone dry. After replacing coolant I filled the reserve tank to “full” I’ve run the engine and didn’t notice any level change in the tank so I’m concluding that somehow my overflow system is not working. (coolant is not being added or sucked away) What should I check to make sure the system is working? Do I need to test my thermostat?

You need to fill the radiator up, then leave the cap off and let the car idle. It should go down and work out any air bubbles in the system and just keep adding water little by little until its full. Then jus put the cap on and your good. A lot of S5's dont even have the bleeder screw I think thats only an S4 thing.

There's another place to bleed it on the block next to the driver side motor mount.

But if I undo the screw on the block wont coolant just come out... or you think air will escape first? Also when should I bleed the block, when the car is off? It really hard to get to it without removing spark plug wires.. so I would be able to do that when its running.

Fill til the filler neck is topped off. Put the cap back on. With your hands, squeeze the top radiator hose several times.

Remove the fill cap again and top off with water once more.

Repeat this several times until finally, when you remove the fill cap it is still topped off.
