Blasphemy! Sometimes I want a turbo...

Yo,

Well, I was driving home last night in my Scirocco and I saw an older Eclipse Spider go ripping by. I checked the back and it said GS-T. Turbo. Damn. I'd have no chance if I wanted to play in my Scirocco, or probably my GTUs.

I was thinking it would be nice to have a TII and be able to bring out the big stick and beat people with it on the street. You know, Freeway battles, stoplight drags, etc. I'm not worried about the twisties, I have that covered. It'd be cool to gobble up V-8 Mustangs, some Corvettes, Boxster S's, Carrera's, etc.

So yes, even I am tempted by the Dark Side now and then. I covet my neighbor's turbo. *grin*

Thought I'd share.

That is why I am gonna get a TII, as well as my N/A. When you want boost, just hop in the other ride, and WHOOSH!! A decent TII is about the cheapest turbo you can find anywhere that is still really fast.

Yeah I just got a 88 TII for $2500 with a rebuilt engine, I had and 89 GTU before and could hang with most of the N/A eaters , But now I just sing "Another one Bites The Dust, Ahh". I need to get a blow off valve too....

I dont know what u guys are talking about...the stock turbo and moded turbo on stock turbos is not that impressive..Were talking over a couple grand just to get to 13.7 in the 1/4. An N/A can do 14.3 with just over a grand because people have done it. Yes it will be loud and no carpet but a turbo with intake exaust clutch fcd and apexi S-AFC will still only do low 14s. Thier not that fast in my opinion. I would rather max out a N/A.

Hey Von, you should talk to turbojeff on this forum. For less than $2002 he had a 87 T2 running a 13.4@102.

Having bolth a 3rd gen and a healthy n/a 2nd gen, i'd say for streetability, the n/a hands down is nicer. But for all out hp, the turbo car is so, so, so much faster, with about 1/10 of the effort.

Ken, if i where you, keep the GTUs, and get a turbo car (3rd gen or 2nd gen) built for killing things.

I don't think anyone who is really looking for a fast car would be happy with 14.3. Low 13s aren't even anything special these days on the street.

Yo,

Why does everyone think my name is Ken?! Lies! It's Kevin! KEVIN!

*snicker*

I have no intention of selling my GTUs. I have a lot to do to it:

1. DTSS killers
2. Coilovers
3. Strut tie bars
4. Repaint mirrors/wing
5. Fix dent.
6. TE37's with Toyo RA1's.

That should do it. *grin*

Von $2000 to run 13's???????????

Not.... try $500

Low 13's not that good on the steet anymore?

2001-2002 SS
13.7
Mustang Cobra 13.6

Hondas with a $4000 Drag Turbo Kit
mid 13's

Lets see Unig TII
there are 2 lanes for cars that run 12.99 and lower
6 lanes for cars that run 13.0 and higher

whch lanes have the MOST cars
hmmmmmmmmm

If you can get your car to run deep into the 13's
you will be able to take on most cars on the Road

I'm not talking about driving around racing Hondas. A low 13 second car where I race won't be winning any money, unless he can convince the guy he's racing that he's a whole lot slower. I'm not talking about stock cars and Hondas running 5 pounds non-intercooled. If the street racers near you all run 14s, then more power to you, but don't try and give me **** because that won't cut it where I'm from.

EDIT: Apparently I went a little off topic, thinking of organized street races instead of just racing everyone you come across on the street.
