Bitchen Screws

I am just about ready to install my shiny new walbro 225lph fuel pump in my TII, how ever it is appernt that the car was owned by some one who lived on a dirt road for a lil while. So anywho, i go to take the cover off of the tank (the actual tank not the one on the floor of the rear area) and i can only get 2 of the 8 or how ever many screws there are holding it in. what do you guys sugest and what would be the best way of going about this? if i get them out there deffintly get'n swaped for hexhead screws. thanx in advance.

Drill the heads off? then unscew the shank with your fingers after the cover is removed?

Buy a screw knocker?

Buy one of those fancy screwdrivers from Sears that are made specifically for removal of buggered up screw heads?

I had that problem once. I think I used a pair of visegrips, I still had a enough of the screw head left.
