Best way to remove Overspray on hatch?

Advice needed on what to use to remove overspray on the hatch, both glass portion and black painted portion. I searched and saw steelwool was good for the glass and it wont scratch (right?), but the painted black portion Im not sure what to use w/o scratching. I have been using a razor blade on the glass but it takes forever!

some 000 fine steel wool and window cleaner works great on the glass, the window cleaner will also allow the razor blade to glide across the glass smoother.

for the painted section use a clay bar

use the clay bar with soapy water, using the stupid spray takes too long.
Wash the car, then clay bar it with the soapy water, rinse and finish.

The paint on that hatch is thin so hopefully you dont rub it off.

Clay bar works great. Just tried it on the windows and light overspray just came off with ease! I just wonder how long you can use the clay with it picking up all the impuripties?? I tried a small section too on my other car hood and it came out super smooth to the tough. Great stuff! Thanks for the tip.

Lightly use 2000 grit wet sand paper on both. Then top the black paint off with a good polish of rubbing compound and wax.

he has solved his problem, always start with the mildest method and work your way towards something more harsh.

You can keep using the clay bar until it starts to scratch the paint up when it gets too loaded

My problem was solved with the good idea of using the clay bar. Thanks for all the other suggestions though. I did try the razor blade and it worked well but it was too slow for me. I liked the clar bar and bought another one today for cleaning my convertible before waxing.

I used to work for a detail shop. You can use those clay bars a long time before you need to replace them. Just keep kneading the bar over and over. You'll feel it (and see) when its time to change. There's no magical expiration period... and incidentally, you're not supposed to use it every time you wash the car. Best application is right before a wax job.
