best of jdm

hey im doing a n/a to TII swap and was looking for complete engines and found bestofjdm.com. their engines are used so they're not rebuilt or remanufactured but their site says they all have low mileage and are high quality and the complete engine with tranny and everything is only about 1,400. i was just wondering if anyone has ever ordered through them and if their engines are actually good and reliable?

I have not ordered from them, although the general consensus here is to get a engine from a importer who is familiar with the rotary engines(like japan2la) and know what to check for with our unique engines. Seems like there is a bit better then 50% chance of having a good solid imported rotary. Not odds I would like to take.

I wouldn't bother with a jdm motor unless you can inspect/compression test it yourself before purchase. OR go through a known seller on the forum like japn2la. Bad experience a few years ago with my JDM motor.

i would recommend contacting ^^^ Japan2LA for JDM engines.
Reputable person that sells stuff that WORKS.

There is nothing wrong with a JDM motor. The internet just makes it sound like they have alot of problems... Half the time, it is just some idiot that doesn't know how to put it in their car on their failure turbo swap....

+1

A friend of mine who owns a Rotary Shop ordered 3 engines from some importer. 1 was completely blown, another had about %60 compression, and the last and best one had about %85. However the company he went through took the bad engines back and shipped new ones.
