Bent Floorpans
Of the 3 Rx7s I've had, all three have had bent floorpans. .All I can figure is that people try jacking up the car by the "frame rails" instead of the body seam. 2 of the cars aren't bad, but my TII is bad enough that you can feel a hump in the floor when your sitting in the car. Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? If so, how?

Yup. You hit it right on the nose. They think they can raise one side completely by jacking under the rail, but all they do is push the floor upwards. The first gen RX7's you could raise the complete side by the frame, but not the new "lightweight" models.

If is not too bad, a block of wood and a big hammer from the inside should 'persuade' it back to it's original position.
Just be care ful not to stretch the metal as this weakens it, and if it is not too bad, you might consider just leaving alone.

I've been considering cutting the framerail out and then beating it back level. Then I would have to weld a new framerail in place. I'm thinking it would take me about a day to do, but it would be a hell of a job.

If you are set on doing something, may I suggest, persuading the hump down from the inside then making a pre-bent patch that goes over the frame, that way you don't actually cut anything away...

The rails themselves have been bent in a way that I believe that the metal would fracture if I was to try to straightin the existing rails. If looks like the floorpan has been bent about 1 inch upward.

The very reason I am reluctant to take it in for service, you have to consider yourself lucky if they own up to damage like that!
Most of the time they hope you won't notice
One time I had the dealership crush both the left and right rocker panels on my van, and it was only in for an oil change
Another time it was in to get the drivers side fender painted, when I got there the bodyshop manager took me out to see
my car and was so proud of the work 'his boy's had done'. The look on his face really changed when I asked to come around
to the driver's side and show them that it didn't receive a drop of paint, they had just repainted passanger side fender...OPPS!
