Before I do Anything....

Ok, before I start putting things on my car....

Right now all I have installed is an FCD. I have a Manual Boost Controller, and a greddy turbo timer in my posession, and Full RB exhaust in the mail. My question is--
FCD, RB full exhaust, Turbo timer, and Ported wastegate --is that a safe combo??-- I also plan on getting a boost and A/f gauge as well. Will my car be okay with no fuel system upgrades?

I would not run that combo without at least a new fuel pump.

No, the stock fuel pump is only good to 250hp to the flywheel - barely 200hp to the wheels.&nbsp This is assuming the fuel pump gets full voltage.

Get rid of that manual boost controller.&nbsp You're alraedy running very high boost with the full exhaust, and the manual boost controller is very hard to set correctly.

Yeah, I wasnt planning on installing the boost controller without some major fuel system upgrades, just the exhaust, FCD, and porting my wastegate for now. With just those 3 mods, is my engine safe?

ok first, RB says the turbo back exhaust pushes boost up to 10-11psi, they say you have to order the small box they have to plug into your ecu so it can run the 10-11psi without cutting the fuel off to the rear rotor, RB says an increase of 59hp is shown with an 87-88t2, thats some nice power i dont know much about the turbo's, but the FCD im assuming is so that the fuel doesnt cut off, but not sure. get a walbro pump, good to 400hp

Actually if he ports his wastegate, he *can* put the boost controller on. The key is not letting the wastegate be overcome by the exhaust gases.

In any case, I would keep the boost at 9psi. You shouldn't be running 200 to the wheels anyway with those mods.

Walbro pump is a little over 100 bucks and then you will be safe. Better to be safe than sorry.
Every thing work out OK Let me know if you want the bracket to mount the controller.

I bought my fuel pump from here at the www.rx7store.net it was pretty cheap, and Jason is a cool guy to work with. As for the wastegate porting I believe Ted has a write-up thats good. I dont remember his sight though, and I could be thinking of someone else

Bump--any alternatives to what I am doing so i can safely run the full RB?? does a BOV take care of boost creep, or a pop off valve--if so would this be better than a ported wastegate? Thanks.

Wastegates take care of boost creep. BOV's vent the intake charge when you let off the gas. That way, the charge cant run back to the turbo and stop it.
