beeping??? and won't idle

when my car runs for about 5 mins or so a beeping starts and won't quit until i shut off the car. I have no idea what it is and could use help. Also even though i've adjusted the AAS my car won't idle, infact it wont run below 1200 rpms i can't think of what it is.

Mine does that too, If I let it just sit and idle for more than like 5 minutes, it starts beeping. Its just a mild continuous beep. I assumed it was the PS computer, and it goes away as soon as I start to drive. I never was really concerned about it. Should I be?

The beeping is more than likely your power steering. Is it working? Does the beep go, beep...beep...beep...beep kinda of evenly?

Your AAS? Auto Adjust Suspension? Not sure what part of idle that play with but it would be news to me

It won't do anything other than annoy you to death. Mine wouldn't shut off though even if I drove. I just unplugged the wiring harness under the dash and solved the problem.

Ok, also you said something about the AAS?? Would that give a beep also, because I did remove my original AAS struts and replaced them with just regular KYBs, so would that maybe it?

Can't you adjust it to where you were at when you started adjusting it?

More than you ever wanted to know about eliminating the p/s beeps...

And not idling suggests a massive air leak. Time to grab some carb cleaner and start check vac hoses and gaskets on the upper and lower intake manifolds.

I've just been researching this in the last few days for a friend.

Odds are you have a big-*** air leak somewhere in your upper or lower manifolds (everything sitting on top of the engine...)

Do a search for, "won't idle" in subject lines only in the 2nd Gen Specific and you'll find plenty of 411. Basically, you have to grab a can of carb cleaner or else a long plastic tube and start hunting (if you're not familiar with a vacuum leak you'll get plenty of info from your search.)
