BEEP Beep Beeep Sound. It wont shut up

Hey guys wahts up. I have a 87 gxl. It was auto now it stick. So the cars been sitting for a minute(very long time). But i been getting her back up and ready for the summer. Theres one problem that is consistent. The car starts BEEPING from teh area around the steering column area. My steering wheel gets MAD STIFF. to the point its like i have no power assist steering. If i shut off the car and turn it back on it goes away and the Steering well is good.

Power Steering FLuid is good, oil, tranny oil, oil filter. Is this a computer glitch or does the beep sound for another problem. No lights come up on my idiot panel.

EDIT:

1) When i got to start the car it cranks for about 10 seconds before kicking over. If i tap the gas a lil the car starts in 3-5 seconds. I never had this problem when the car was auto. It was sitting for a while and now i have this problem. Can it be the Fuel Filter is clogged from all the old gas and stuff and the fuel going to the engine cant push its way thru the clogged filter? Im going to change it soon.

2) Rx7 when u start them up are suppose to rev up to like 3k for about 20-25 second then come back down to idle at 750. When i first start the car it doesnt idle and dies, then when i start it again it idles. It fights to idel but it idles at about 1ooo RPM's. I tried adjust the valve on top of the engine and idle wont move.

3) i have an exhausst leak if u can call it that. I am missing my left muffler lost it on the highway. Now its hard to drive and not attract attention when the RPMS stay mad high and my car makes a shitload of noise when driving. I think this is affecting my idle. When i hit the gas and it revs up and comes back down to idle, it kinda hestitates / chuggs like if it was going to shuttoff, but it idles. The engine literally looks like its gonna shut off but fights it and stays on

4) When i was doing the auto to manual conversion. I didnt ground it right to the engine, and i created a short and the electrical current went thru my Stainless clutch line and cooked it. After that my oil pressure sesor in the car is broken. It stays under 0 when the car is off and sometimes it jumps to 100psi. I called mazdatrix they said it could be a pinched wire somewhere, is this true. Is there a way to fix it?

little problems that i must fix.

Any suggestions will be taken into account. Sorry for the mispelling just trying to get my point across

The beeping is your CPU telling you there is a problem with your power steering system...

THe powersteering is going bad. It the powersteering like the AC compressor you have to lubricate the spinning mechanism with some type of oil? Like when u do the AC u need to add the oil charge before putting the freeon

What could be wrong with the PS? So now i gotta cop a new one GRRRRRRR

Only half right. The power steering computer is different than the CPU. Two different boxes, however as covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread, the beeping is telling of an error in the power steering system. the number of beeps reference what the problem is.

Again, thread closed, subject covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread.
