If you go to the track at all in this car, I recommend you DO NOT PERFORM THIS MOD-- Not unless you're willing to purchase a good battery box and cut-off switch-- and are willing to run a ton of cable

I use "cheapie" marine battery boxes you can get from Kragen/Schucks/Checkers or KMart ($7.99!).  I use a pair of angle brackets for the rear and bend them to match the angle from the back end of the comparment.  The fronts drill straight down into the chassis.  I managed to install one recently in 2 hours from start to finish.&nsp This does not include the wiring, but that doesn't take me more than another hour to do.
