Question Bad Vibration...HELP!!

I have an 89 N/A. Just the other day while i was driving randomly my car just started vibrating. Mainly steering wheel, and shift **** vibration. It definitely is more intense when i get up to speed but the car does still vibrate at low speeds and low rpms. Ive checked the U-Joint, drive axles and my wheels have no play? so im kinda stuck.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks beforehand.

Maybe you threw a wheel weight? Get your tires balanced.

check your motor mounts?(they are made of rubber on steel.,and can Shear off and cause drivetrain vibration)

thanks for the insight guys. ill take a peek at my motors mounts a little closer tomorrow. i drained and refilled my transmission fluid. still has the same vibration. I feel like maybe my transmission is going? but would it make sense that my transmission is going if i can still shift into every gear. I have no clue what else it could be.

your best bet would be to check the wheels to make sure they are still in balance. cheap and qick

wheel balance... rear end mounts, especially the front one (fails vertically in shear)... driveshaft... engine mounts... transmission mount... ?

All this assumes the vibration varys with vehicle speed, not engine speed...

when you say rear end mounts, what are you referring to? Sorry if thats a dumb question. also im pretty sure my wheels arent out of balance because most of the vibration occurs when im on the throttle. when i let off its pretty much smooth. and i know its not engine related because if i put the clutch in i can free rev all i like and its smooth with no vibration. thats what led me to it being drive train related.

Thanks again for the insight guys,

really appreciated.

I bet the issue is either the drive shaft U joints or one of the rear CV axles.

Importordomestic. Good call. I checked the u joint connecting to my diff and it was fine so i just assumed at the time my upper one would be fine. haha amateur mistake. I havent taken it off or fixed it yet. but im 99% sure that it is the upper u joint.

Thanks again for all your help guys.

ill post back on here if a replacement drive shaft does the trick.
