Nobody has mentioned running a yoohoo belt to the water pump...

Being a poor college student, I found this to be a cheaper option than buying a dual alt pulley.

1) At the proper tension, the water pump tends to slip = BAD.
As NZConvertible has already mentioned, the stock viscous clutch fan aggrevates this problem due to the higher (rotating) mass.

2) If you need to tighten everything to keep the water pump from slipping, this is usually TOO TIGHT.
Too tight of a belt can kill bearings and / or kill the belt itself.
It's not recommended to tighten everything until the belt stops slipping.

This is why a double sheave pulley is recommended.
Contact banzaitoyota if you got no money.

I'd have the Dual Alternator Pulley just in case.

Good, because it's a hack solution that damages bearings over time for the same ressons Ted just mentioned. The reason for adjustable belt tension is so you can set the correct tension. An non-adjustable set-up is going to be either too loose (useless) or too tight. The chances of an off-the-shelf belt being the perfect length are very slim, particularly since no two belts are exactly the same. If you couldn't afford a dual-belt pulley then you should've left the air pump where it was.

How often do you rev over 4kRPM?
I notice that single belts - air pump usually slips at higher RPM's.
