bad gas mileage?

On my last tank of gas on my 88 RX7 GXL i got about 170 km (a little over 100 miles) out of it. This was all city driving with stop signs and lights, etc., a lot of shifting and not too many straight stretches of driving. Is this good mileage or bad mileage? i just want to know where i'm at.
thanks

Re: bad gas mileage?

That's not very good, I do substantially better with my TII. What's with the metric first, you're a yank!

Don't wanna bust your bubble but that's brutal mileage man. I used to get 400km to the tank and now get 300 which I filled last night that kind of pissed me off and wondering what's going on. I think for me though is that an oil change warmer weather and some normal maintenance is needed for my car.

Does your car flood? Maybe leaky injectors? HOw old is the engine?

Geez, that's some horrible gas mileage!
You should be getting closer to 200mile on each tank (assuming 13 gallons per tank).&nbsp Some of you are getting HALF that???

I'd start with new spark plugs and spark plugs wires if they haven't been changed recently!

For me in my 88NA, I was getting between 350-450 kms per tank (210-270 miles) per full tank (60L), and the car was basically stock. 1990 TII gets about 300 kms (180 miles) to a full tank. This was all city driving, got about an extra 50 kms for the freeway.
It depended a lot on how I drove. I would usually bury the needle 8-10 times to a tank.

my record was 400 miles/tank (20w50, summer, usa, 86 octane), but now in this freaking cold, using castrol 15w40 and 95octane gas (europe) i`m under 200 miles/tank usually (and i do pay 3x more for gas than those 400 miles was ;ppp)

Yup, and I thought mine was bad. That's like, 7 MPG!
I get about 10, but only because my car is f*cked.
You must have it's long lost twin brother.

In my 88 TII i regularly get 250km out of the tank. In hard driving conditions.

I get 280 kms if i go easy on it - so i figure "why not hammer it"

The most I have ever got is 420kms out of it and that was hwy driving at 120kph.

63 litre tank - though i can never fit more than 55 litres into it.
