Is this bad?

tearing down the motor today and I found this ugly spot. Am I going to need to replace the iron? maybe weld it? Any advice would be appreciated.

looks liek if you attempted to weld even if it was a great weld youd still have to make the exact angle and curvature, to make things alot simpler pick up a set of new irons for under a 100 bucks on ebay

if you want to really use it again, then by all means go ahead.
It is better to be safe then sorry which is why it should be replaced.
Thats right along the o-ring, its going to cave in when you rev the engine.
You can try welding it, but I dont know if it will be good enough.

That iron is junk, picture of the area is a "common" problem. I think it has a lot to do with people overheating or neglect cooling system.

you can get a used set for maybe 100 bux or so.

I hope I can take mine out by tomorrow, time to have some fun
