Backfiring problem?

Hey guys, ok so after I warm my car up and drive, if I sit in it (idling); it starts to backfire a little. Is that detonation? Can an S4 na have detonation? Plus my idle is a little high, how would I adjust that?
thx

no it's not knock, it is just a rough idle and is probably misfiring a little. nothing to worry about at all.

Nah, you're just running a little rich. Backfiring might be a bit of a problem, simply because it means you're running rich, and therefore wasting more gas than necessary.... but it's the SWEETEST problem ever.

^^ x2 lol yeah nothing to worry about on our cars its just a rx7 thing like how you smell gas all the time and what not. I think its better to run a little rich because then you dont need to worry about leaning out !!

Check your exhaust system for leaks.

this might be retarded but I fixed someone elses backfire a while back after the person had it at a shop for tune up. When he got it back it backfired on him and never did before the tune up...can anyone guess what was wrong ?

the garage reversed the leading and trailing wires haha and when I reversed then to the proper way the backfire was corrected. Worth a look hehehe...
