Exclamation BAC: S5 n/a and turbo interchangeable ??

I've searched and found nothing. Does the Bypass air contorl (BAC) from an S5 n/a non-turbo fit the S5 turbo engine? Also, will S4 BACs fit the S5s?

I believe they do based on my S4 experience. Only difference is the inlet pipe faces a different way. However, you can change this. There is a small screw, it may be tough to loosen, holding the inlet pipe in place. If you can get it out, you can use a rubber mallet (or any smashing device) to gently tap the inlet pipe until it faces the direction you need it to.

Does it pump faster/slower or read differently than each other, seeing how it's turbo and N/A?

all n/a BACs do not have an idle adjustment screw.

Is this idle screw that important? I'm ripping out an NA out of my car now and it has the bac.

if you don't have the top mount intercooler any longer it isn't really a necessity.

on 100% stock cars it is a pain to remove everything associated with the intercooler to adjust the idle in small increments, reassemble, recheck, pull it all apart rinse and repeat for the desired idle setting.

keep in mind if you use the idle set screw to adjust the idle you also have to adjust the TPS every time you do.

I am doing a FMIC. So if I put on the S5 N/A BAC (apparently no idle screw), can I adjust the idle at the throttle body, and have the srew-less BAC there? Is there any negative impacts?

My nipple was broken off, this is why I ask. It's in the photos below. I just figured out the I can transfer that port to the new one.

So what's the difference? It may be just cosmetic. There seems to be no idle screw on either. Also, this is N374 and N350 units

if it is a JSPEC engine they did not have an idle adjuster in the BAC either.

Yup, just did. when you take the coolant tube off, you will find that it doesn't even flow through the unit (what I thought). So I went through all this for nothing LOL
