AWD conversion.......

Was wondering if anybody had any info on that. I checked the FAQ and searched but it was to no avail.....

I am attempting 2 projects. One is my LS1 swap and the other is my 87 NA AWD conversion. Any tips......?

I've heard of using the AWD from the mazda trucks of around the same year.

Sorry, I have no more info than that.

There was 1 AWD 13b powered rx7 rally car that mazda made long long ago. It had a 626 front wheel drive system. So if your gonna attempt this a 626 front end may be what you want to try first since thats what mozda did. This will probably cost alot to do as well.

Here's how to do it:

Mazda MPV Drivetrain. They are AWD, and the tranny is pretty close.

You will have to modify the front subframe to accomodate the new stuff in there.

Traction for what? You can run 9's with RWD without too much difficulty, last I checked they corner just fine. Unless you're planning some snowcross or ice racing, or just simply rally, again it's chocked up to a complete waste, (especially considering you could get a faster better AWD for a fraction of the cost that will almost always beat it)

I dont understand why you would go AWD?

If you really want an AWD car then get a WRX or if you dont have that much money get a 2.5RS

OUr cars are built upon the basis of it being a RWD car. So if you add front axles it will most likely make your car feel like ****/ a lot different. because everything that is on the car is put there for a reason, taking **** off and putting different stuff there most of the time makes it worst.

my opinion and you guys can hate if you want.

Enough said.

That White car became Blue/Pink (RE Paint scheme, old one) It was a 3 rotor PIkes Peak Hill Climbing FC, i dont think it ever got to run (on pikes peak that is), but that was its original intention, RE was selling it under 6 months ago, i never seen it sell....

Do you have proof of this?
I find this hard to believe since Mitsubishis are primarily FWD platforms, and then start shifting power to the rear wheels.
This means the 13BT had to have been mounted sideways???

why dont you just work on getting the power down better at the rear wheels? if it means a ford rear end, then by all means if your going to be building a drag car or something and need traction, while having tonnes of money to spend.. then do it!
