To be honest, you can just run an XS Power manifold. That's what I've been using for the last 10k plus miles and it's held up, but I also braced the hell out of it. Welding on some braces shouldn't be a problem if you are getting into welding. Some of the other people on here making a lot of power also use ebay manifolds. to be honest, I would also use a cast iron manifold, it's almost indestructable, just don't dump water on it after driving the car hard. Also, Aspec has manifolds and down pipes with lifetime warranties. Then just bolt up your exhaust.

Like I said, knock off Tial Wastegates use the same internals as real Tial wastegates so you might be ok, and if it breaks, just call up Tial and buy a replacement part.

 

i still avoid the SS manifolds unless they are top notch materials, the ebay ones use low grade stainless and will eventually crack regardless of how well you brace or reinforce them.

mine held up for a while with the hybrid turbo but eventually started to crack and it turned into glass fracturing in several spots as the material got too brittle with age.

 

To the OP why do you care what the DSM guy thinks, I wouldn't suggest building a car just so you can beat another car, because there will always be someone else in line faster. Just build the car the way you want it & screw what others think. I have 4 friends with 600+awhp DSM's & I could give two ***** if they can beat me or not. I have what I want & they have what they want. Also the crank walk situation is a 7 bolt problem not a 6 bolt issue. BTW he has alot heavier of a car so in power to weight thinking a 400 hp talon/eclispe will lose to a 400 hp 7, but driver capabilities are also involved. Good luck in your quest to beat him tho.
