AutoX Hauled ***

I went to an AutoX at Speedway and saw a raced out FC and what apeared to be an NA. He had like 12in slick tires. Everything in the interior was ripped except the gauge cluster and steering wheel. When he got in line, that sucker hauled major ***. It burned out thru second and chirped at third. I'm thinking, was thinking that for tires that wide, you'd need like 350-400 hp. What mods can you do to an NA to bring it to that level?

really? I mean, i was telling my buddy that na's could be made fast too, but i didn't know how. He thinks rotary engines can't be made fast, unless a turbo is dropped, because they have less things to upgrade, like cams.

I saw a dynoe sheet somewhere of a BD N/a and it was like 240whp so that is a lot of power to put down on a lightweight car. That think probably weighed 2600 pounds or less.

just because there are less parts involved does not mean you cannot make more power. There may be no cams to change, but porting the intake and exhaust ports has a similar effect to changing cams, it effects flow and intake/exhaust port timing, and it's alot cheaper than cams cost, you just need to have the engine apart to do it.

Changing the port size and shape (not to mention the texture) is identical to changing cams and porting the head on a piston engine.

did you walk up to the car/look in it/look at the engine? i have seen turbo FCs with FMIC's that had NA hoods.

I walked up to the car, but i didn't get a chance to see what was under the hood because he was inline to race. I did get to see inside the car though, but saw no boost gauge.
