Automic Adjusting Suspension
How does it work? I'm changing struts and shocks and springs soon but I don't know if it's still going to work. I really like it and I would like it to still function. Thanks. Any good product recomendations, my car is pretty stock, just intake and exhaust upgraded.

If you want to keep the stock AAS system, they you have to buy the stock AAS shocks..
You are looking at 220 EACH for the fronts and 170 EACH for the rears... Thats 780 bux in shocks!!!!!!!!!!!
Basically the stock system works the same as most other adjustable struts.. there is an indexed adjuster on the top of the strut that, when turned to the next position, adjusts the valve damping inside the strut to let the fluid flow more freely or restricted for a softer or firmer ride.
In the stock case.. there are actuators on top of each strut that turn the adjusters relative to the pisition of the switch... when you push the switch to the left, the actuators turn counter clockwise (If i remember correctly)
Soooooo....... assuming that your actuators are still working... you have a choice...
you can pay about 800 bux for stock AAS replacement struts and just hit a switch to change the damping of the shocks......
OR... You can get a set of AGX's off ebay and pay less than 400 bux for 4-way adjustable fronts and 8 way adjustable rears.. and put up with getting out of your car to change the setting of the shocks..
25% of guys here choose the latter..... 74% say "screw" it and put regular shocks on the car (every AAS car i've bought to fix up and re-sell either had the adjusters laying in one of the rear bins, or gone completely) 1% actually replace the factory AAS shocks!
Springs.... Eibachs are the most popular choice

The stock AAS shocks are pretty worn after 120,000 miles.
At that point, disabling the AAS controller & manually turning the adjusters full right gives a ride about like cheap new shocks.

You can remove the AAS actuaters on each strut tower, and the AAS control CPU which is located on the right side of the spare tire cavity. Don't bother removing the wiring leadin to the control unit and strut towers because you can risk damaging other wiring that runs along side them throughout the vehicle.
