i think i'm gonna blow mine up. not yet, but hopefully soon. my first gear is next to gone anyway. i really want a manual. i think i'm just gonna 'splode it. i'll try to launch or something.......lol......does that work???? i've never tried that. what would happen on an automatic if you pulled to 5 and just mashed it into first?!?!?!?!............. pop. fizz. maybe? screech.hop.zoom?? just a thought

first gear is ........for lack of a better word..........fucked. clunky. atf is fine, colorfull. idk just old maybe. 156k on s4 n/a. dont know if tranny's as old neccesarily, but...assuming...

 

LoL, the autos for these cars suck ***. 2nd gear went to **** on mine. It wouldn't shift into the gear and if it did it would slip right out. I had to manually shift it from 1st to 3rd. Yeah that was fun for trying to race, couldn't even beat SUVs that weren't even trying.

Neutral drops were still kind of fun. Rev to 4-5k in neutral then pop it in drive. Nice little chirp and a decent little launch for the NA s4 engine in my s5 vert. I'd still lose when I had to shift from 1st to 3rd, just not enough power for that kinda gear change. I only did a couple neutral drops, never blew up the trans before I did the full TII swap.

 

yeah. the protege i used to drive was auto and from a dig, if you planted the pedal, it would disengage, then drop....like most kickback features on (most) auto tranny's. but no such luck with this tranny, but fortunately i'm in second by the middle of any intersection (first is shot remember) so if i plant it i'll drop to first for a nice little sneak attack...lol. hopefully they just let of the throttle!
