automatic seat belts

it took the dealers about two months to get the parts but i finally got it fixed. the only problem i have is that they broke the panel and glued it! its all loose and flimsy.WTF? if they break it, are they not suppose to replace it? i mean they are suppose to be certified mazda machanics right? how did they break it then? well just wanted to know if i could call mazda or something and get the parts for free. thanks

Well you might be able to get it fixed, but the dealers don't like to do anything for free. I'm going through hell to get my seatbelt fixed. Where did you get yours fixed at? Which dealer?

They will replace the plastic if you bug them about it or just get over it and call Mazda North, it's covered under the recall as the dealership wrote mine off during the process...

YES they can replace them and order them...

I had mine fixed done here in Houston. It took them a week to get the parts 3 hours to install and everything went off without a hitch...I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with some of the dealers...It is a manufacturer safety recall...have a lawyer put in a call to the dealership, that will speed up the process.

My passenger side was the only one messed up and they replaced both, sliders, motors, belts, the entire set up on both sides...I got really good service. A+ for Mazda of Clearlake in Webster, TX

If you leave it to them they won't get back to you...run a google for mazda recalls, get the safety recall number print it out and take it to them in person, set up an appointment on the spot...don't let them give you the run around, they have to have the parts "readily available" for the lifetime of the vehicle...don't be a fraid to be pushy...demand a loaner car, insist on it being fixed asap...if not, drop a hundred bucks and have a lawyer call em...if they refuse to fix it they are in violation of FEDERAL LAW...Lawsuit!!!

Yeah, Darksider I would try another dealer. I had Mazda North American on the phone three way with the dealer and he told me B.S. They said they would call me back too. Yeah right. I went to another dealer and set up an appointment there and then, they did initially think it was closed, but they called someone and were like "ok no problem." They had to order parts, which makes sense because the car is 16yrs old. Keep trying. Don't give up.
