Auto Transmission = Power Steering?

Auto Transmission = Power Steering?
I heard somewhere that you can use Automattic Transmission fluid in replacement if you run out of Power Steering fluid. I know you probably would be better off if you just break down and spend the 4 dollars to buy the PS fluid, but say, if you were broke, could you use the Auto Transmission fluid?

Another neglected fluid never changed or checked!
PS fluid is hydraulic fluid. ATF is hydraulic fluid.
Read your owners manual. ATF is the fluid of choice in the '91. I doubt that it is different from any other years.
My PS runs Mobil1 ATF. Works great.
