the year doesn't matter as long as you use the tranny crossmember that goes with the tranny. In this case you would need an s4 crossmember. I assume you know about all of the stuff tha goes into the swap?

the faq covers this pretty detailedly.
maybe you could make use of common sense and read it...
or try searching for it.

in a nut shell, you need all the manual crap

and then, sideways7 is completely wrong because it doesnt matter which tranny crossmember you use, none of them would fit. you have to make your own bracket.

Yeah, good point slpin, didn't even think about that. There is a good writeup on rotaryresurrection.com on how to do it, if you don't already know.

He's not completely incorrect if the swap involves welding new crossmember mounts into the correct position on the S5. In this case he would use the crossmember that matches the transmission. If he wants to jury rig the mount, then it doesn't matter.

yeah...
lets assume a guy who just walks in here, who asks about auto to manual swap for the 931's time, knows to weld in the crossmember mounts?

Actually it seems easier and cleaner than creating the enormous channel steel trans mount from the auto frame location, as long as you have access to welding equipment. You can even fabricate mounts and weld them to the frame if you didn't want to cut the originals out of the doner car.

thanks for the info, rotary ressurection is an awesome site.the swap should be a weekend job.nothin to complicated.

i was wondering about the computer, but theres a seperate auto trans computer that you just unplug.

i just got this car(rx7) coming from a long honda background. this car is totally different, and to get info and people you understand these cars are harder, but they are out there.
again thanks for the info.

p.s. this info was in the tech section not faq.
