Auto to stick conversion

Hi, I was wondering what it would take and how much it would cost to convert an auto '88 rx7 to a stick shift. I have a good chance of buying one with bad engine and auto for really cheap, but I dont want an auto. This is a hard dissicion, please help me decide.

Thanks

It's quite an easy and fun conversion to do, you sort of get dirty and get flamiliar with the car, and you get a 5 speed out of it, just follow hypntyz7's guide, and of course ask him for help (and a bracket if need be) and you'll be all set

It's not really as bad as it seems, and it is very much worth the effort! Just follow the instructions, with a little knowledge and some time it will be done. Me and a friend did it in less than 6 hours total.
