Holy grammar batman!

Yes you can put a 5-spd transmission in place of your current automatic, and yes you will make to do something to compensate for the differences between the location of the cross members for the auto and 5-spd chassis(auto is located back farther).

Just get some manual tranny mounts and weld them in. The rest is pretty straight foward. Oh, and you need a manual driveshaft, auto is like 2-3inches shorter.

You might also need a master and slave cylinder, clutch, PP plate, and starter. If you weld in new mounts, remove the interior carpet first.

Not sure on your spec over there but on the TII S4 there was only the one set of auto mounts for mine, I had an old S5 shell kicking around and drilled the spot welds from the mounts in that and then simply welded them in. I say simply but its a lot of work but then when you \look underneath you can not tell they have been welded. Took me about half a day to get the welds drilled out. You will need all the other items that have been mentioned and also a ECU. On the later
S5 models they have both sets of mounts so its an easier mod to do. You will also have to deal with the coolant lines going to the gearbox as well. Dont forget the clutch pedal assy, thats a pain to fit with the dash in but can be done. Aching back afterwards though. Well worth the mod if you have a donor car.

S5's do not have both sets of mounts on the car (Mine didn't). You do not need a new ECU. You only need to unplug the auto computer. And yes, the pedal assembly is a pain.

You really should search, there's a few writeup on this. I think there might be one archived. Rotaryressurrection.com has a writeup as well. If you can weld or know someone that can weld and have all the parts needed the swap is pretty easy. The biggest issue with this, is when you get to the wiring side of things, just study wire diagrams in an FSM and you take your time and you should be alright.
