alright so im doing a 5spd swap into my 88 se. i had my buddy over yesterday to help and he said i needed the plate that goes where the shifter is(sorry dont know what its called)...he said its basically the same thing i pulled out but has something for the shifter to sit in. it bolts down to the body of the car...anyone have any pics of this plate. thank you and any help will be appriciated

Are you taliking about the shift boot retainer?

 

not the plastic thing that goes around the shifter that holds the boot....its metal i guess and bolts down with 4 bolts
