can you buy a new speedo cable?

as the title says i think i need a new one. when im driveing my speedo needle just kinda bounces. exp; im doing 25 but the needle reads anywhere from 22 to 28 mph. thanks

New cables are available from the dealer or from Mazdatrix (I think, they've got nearly every stock part).

napa told me the speedo cable for my TII would be a whopping $15. i have yet to order it and yet to find anywhere that can beat their price

check where it screws into the tranny. follow the cable from the engine bay down to where it screws in at, might sure that is tight. also check for any knicks on the cable.

does it only screw up around 25 mph? how do you know the true vehicle speed? dyno?

If its bouncing, more likely the cable is sticky. You can take the cable out and lube it, although by the time you've got it out, you might as well replace it.

yeah i think i will just get a new one. and no its bouncy at every speed. its just weird cause its giving me a general speed im going lol

plugs into back of insturment cluster and tranny, you can probably get one from the junkyard for about 10 bucks.
