Atmospheric Pressure Sensor S4 N/A

I have a 1986 S4 (RX7 SE 4 lug) early model. I'm trying to go through the Field Service Manual and check things before I try to smog it. It's running rough and I can't find any vacuum leaks.. . . .That's the reason I'm going through all the subsystems per the FSM and verifying operation.

I can't seem to find an Atmospheric Pressure Sensor per the FSM location. I have the Lean/Rich Adjustable Resistor, and I assume that handles what an Atmospheric Pressure Sensor would be used for.

Did early 2nd Gen RX7's not have a ATM Pres Sensor and use only the Lean/Rich Adjustable Resistor?. . .I assume to deal with altitude fuel mix ratios?.

There is a “boost” pressure sensor inside the passenger compartment on the passenger side by the entrance of the engine harness.

I also have an early 86 model, and mine is still in the normal location (it's the little black box beside the adjustable resistor you're mentioning).

If it isn't there, look between the intake runners just above the Air Control Valve. The vacuum nipple for the pressure sensor is there, so you should hopefully be able to follow it in the event a previous owner moved the sensor for some reason.

Found it behind the kick panel on the passenger side interior next to the ECU.

Boost sensor has a vacuum line going to it from the engine and resides next to the passenger side front strut tower.. . .Came up good.

Atmospheric has no vacuum line.. . .Off to measure voltage now.

Thanks. . .RL
