Question atmospheric pressure sensor

Anyone know how critical the readings from the atmospheric pressure sensor are? The specs say that at sea level (basically my altitude) it should read 3.5 to 4.5 volts. Mine reads 4.96 V and I'm wondering (though I doubt it) if that might be contributing to my idle bounce problem.

Also, does anyone know if that part is interchangeable between S4 TII's and NA's?

BTW, yes, I'm talking about the sensor that's inside the cabin by the passenger's right foot, NOT the boost sensor in the engine bay.

Whats your altitude? IIRC thats a compensating device for altitude.

Well I'm sure as hell not below sea level, which is what that reading would imply - I think at high altitude the spec is 2.5-3.5 but I don't have the haynes on my right now.

Yeah checking a topographic map says my altitude is under 1000 feet above sea level.

They are the same part number for na or turbo. The spec is also the same in the fsm for turbo for atp sensors. This could be a meter error/problem and while your at it, try to see what the output is at pin 2H WITH the engine running and WITHOUT the engine running.

I know the engine running has squat with the sensing of the sensor....but I think the output of the sensor might read a touch one way or the other with/without the engine running.

I doubt that is your problem with the car......but they are cheap parts from the wreck yard so buy another and see.

I read 3.94v on mine. I'm about 600 ft above sea level. It does not matter whether the engine is running or not. The output of the alt does not seem to effect it like I thought it might.

I'd be surprised if it really did anything...
