Atkins Coolant Ring defect?

I ordered a gasket kit for my s4. During inspection I notice two of the inner o rings are splitting at the seam where that green mark is. Has anyone encountered this problem?

call them and tell them about this. that spot is the most sensitive spot on the water seal and is prone to breaking and results in burning coolant. ask them for new ones and make sure you place the water seal with that spot on the intake side since it's the coldest spot on the motor.

Atkins sucks, I wouldn't buy anything from them.

Buy from Mazda.

Why does Atkins suck? I've never had anything but good dealings with them.

At any rate, the split seals happen due to old stock. I've had the same thing happen when purchased from Mazda. Call up Atkins and have them swapped, or just spend a few dollars at the local Mazda dealership.

Yea, I spoke to them said to send them back, It just looks like it was sitting in that awkward position for too long. Luckily I had a few laying around from my previous build. As far as them sucking, I think they make a great product and their customer service is top notch.

Call Dan, he'll do the right thing, always treated me well. When I was down in Auburn and stopped in they treated me like family. Dave showed me a bunch of his old porting from his race car and showed me around the entire shop.

When I blew up my supercharger, I sent them my rotors and they pressed new rotors on them, shipped them the next day and provided a full tutorial on how to set the timing of the rotors properly. Others would have said send the whole thing and it'll be "this much" and that's it.
