My friend put ATF in the place where u check oil levels--the oil dipstick funnel---about half a quart of it thinking it was the automatic tranny fluid funnel..............what can be done ? and how unsafe is this?

 

Just drain the oil out and change the filter. I would use a cheap oil, run it 15 minutes and change the oil and filter again. Then I would BITCH-SLAP the silly bastard that didi it

If it's just been poured in there, it's just sitting in the oil pan. Just drain the oil pan and refill with oil.

ATF and oil are relatively compatible, so I don't think it's that big of a deal.
