Talking ATF But Oil use trick

I want to know what kind of oil i need to use? I know not to use atf because it ruins the oil seals.

you can use 2 stroke oil if you are willing to bypass the omp to a resevoir of 2stroke oil..not atf tho..

it can be used in a mix of oil and atf to clean engine internals due to ATF's high amount of detergents... but that is in the case of piston engines, i dont know about it in a rotary...

heres a link to patman's DIY

If you're talking about to help rebuild compression after a flood or something then just use regular motor oil.

What are you trying to accomplish with this "trick"?

If the engine is just flooded, then motor oil/two stroke oil is fine. ATF if you can't find anything else and intend to start and drive the car immediately.

But if you are trying to clean out carbon, then search for the "water trick". Keep in mind that it is possible to do more damage then you "cure" since large chunks of carbon can fall off an jam up...

In my opinion, it is best to just leave it alone.

What are you trying to do?

If the car is flooded, try searching for "unflooding" and checking the FAQ.

If you want to try and clean out any carbon, search for "water trick".

Otherwise you're going to need to give us a little information...
