Go do a search for the engine code checker. you can make one for like $3 out of LEDs.

I have to admit i cant get my head around this Compretion thing?

There seems to be a big variation from one day to the next? and also it seems to be the same on both rotors (one compretion stroke seems more loud than the other two?)

The car is fairly std (Tb mod and cats removed) and i have run 8psi of boost.
Could i have killed it? or could it be as simple as carbon build up?

Whould this be the cause of my poor starting problem?

Thanks

#1 if you have good compression IT'S NOT THE APEX SEALS so stop panicking... It's very unlikely that that's the problem at 10,000 miles, and if it was the problem, you'd know it when you did the compression test. If it makes you feel better to run ATF through it, go ahead, if you like the smoke or something. Unless you never drive over 1500rpm or you're burning diesel fuel you won't have carbon lock.

The rear rotor almost always goes first. What do you mean vaires from day to day? It's not the noise, it's the PSI that counts...

#2 - check for intake leak, but don't use that intake spray stuff they sell for carbureted cars. Concentrate on hoses, vacuum hoses (a real likely culprit) and making sure everything is tightened down properly (manifoild, air tube between AFM and filter and manifold)...

It really sounds like a vacuum leak. Check your vacuum hoses (I know that's a pain)...

In the short term, bump your idle up to 1200 until you get the problem solved.
