Apex Seals

hey what kind of apex seals should i use for increases engine life and holf up better in a s5 street ported engine with mabe upgrades like nitrous in the future. People who know there stuff only, i dont want to hear about what you have heard.

If you are going to juice it I suggest 3 mm iron seal, or ceramic if you can afford it. As for engine life stock 2 mm is great and it seals good for response and low end. As for nitrous and forced induction you can not go too far with 9.7 comp. rotors, may be 40 hp shot or 6-7 pounds of boost.

stock 3 piece 2mm.. fc3s.org put a 50 wet shot on a stock motor.

so do 3mm seramic seals wear fast?? also if i went 2mm should i go 3 pice or 2 pice and what type of material?

Every good builder ive ever talked to has always backed the mazda seals. I know of a few people trying out the atkins to see how they go... but the results arent in yet, to say the least

atkins seals are great they use them in there own engines and they have a 24,000 mile warrenty on them so they should last very well. im going to buy my engine from them for my 86 on thursday

im sure mazda has good seals cuz they are made for the car but im sure somone can improve on them.
