Anyone using a profec for boost control?

I was mainly looking for a Greddy profecB for boost control, and checking them out on ebay, I was wondering how in the hell do you control how much boost youre setting it it? All I see is three *****, and it doesent look like there are any numerals on them for psi or bar, so if anyone could fill me in Id appreciate it.

Well, there is no direct correlation between **** position and a set psi. The way it works is you set the first dial, which sets the wastegate response, or how fast the WG opens. You want to do this with both the high and low boost dials zeroed out. You set the dial so that you get the fastest spoolup without overshooting base boost(stock actuator). Once this is dialed in, you can begin to increase the gain on either the hi or low dials and watch the boost gauge. Just leave the **** where it is when you get to the boost you want. Its as simple as that. Its a great controller, holds boost well without fluctuations, doesnt really change the boost setting when the outside air temp changes and is super easy to set up. IMO its alot better than the new Profec B spec II. Hope that helps.

i have a profecB and I love it. It helped my boost response a lot, and with my ported wastegate my boosts stays exactly where I set it.

Im thinking about picking up the type S now, it looks like the replacement for the B, or the newer one without the screen that is.
