Anyone try Direct Hits?

They are devices that fit on your spark plugs that boost your spark. They are available for RX7's with an adapter that allows you to use 5/8" hex sparkplugs. Looks like they will boost both HP and gas milage.

for that much money could you not get a MSD? That would give you hotter spark and a rev limiter.

Just my $02

would a really powerful ignition system make it easier to detonate?

yea ive read that it helps prevent it, but to me, a big *** spark would seem to be more prone to popping the A/F mix, rather than a slow burn, right?

Thanks for the comments on the Direct Hits

A guy that works there, Lou Camilli, responds to e-mail questions. Just hoping I can find someone who has tried them.

Looks like a scam to me. They never mention anything about how they work... just that they do. When that is the case, the product is often of the infomercial quality.

i have always heard that a colder spark is better. if so then this would be the opposite effect unless you run high octane.

The Direct Hits is the same as the Nology Hot wires, except the capacitors are separate, not built into the wire.

Keep in mind that there's a BIG difference in rotary and boinger ignition. The spark duration in a rotary is a fraction of the boinger, therefore there's much less to improve upon.

If you're NA, iginition is the very LAST thing you want to spend money on. The stock ignition very easily supports 300rwhp. If you're Turbo, you're better off with an MSD or Jacobs.

As for capacitor type stuff, read this:
http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/truth.htm scroll to down the part starting with "CAPACITOR EFFECT WIRES". Granted you have to take into consideration the source, but it's a perspective to consider.
