i thought apexi N1's sounded more like racing beat bc of the inline silencer

I have a stock manifold with RB DP and presilencer, finished off with an N1 single. It sounds badass, great tone, and it isn't too loud (at least 4k and below it isn't, haven't got into the upper RPM's yet).

That's hardly true, RB's sound a bit louder and throatier over stock. N1's on the other hand compete with Corksport for the title of "loudest system."

No but that money can get you started in the right direction. Atleast start getting the MSC stuff like throttle cable, t2 half shafts and other goodies. All I am saying is that don't throw your money away on bolt on **** that they try to sell you in magazines. I.E. Wheels and exhaust pipes. Open any import mag and all you see is 90% eye candy and 10% actual performance mods.

I'm more for 99.99% eye candy. The remaining %0.01 is ear crack.

Those import mags are useless.

Why even bother with a muffler at that point?

N1s are LOUD.

Our cars sound cool open header (IMO)
