Anyone with Ported Wastegate?

i only have the stock boost guage as of now...and was just trying to guess as to how much boost its actually running. or how extreme the port on the wastegate was. lets say i floor the car in first or second. the needle on the stock guage reads about 1/2-3/4 up on the orange semicirle part. i was under the impression that the top of the orange was about 7.5psi? i know i really need to get a REAL boost gauge, but just wondering how much boost you'd guess you'd run with these mods normally OR with a ported wastegate. i guess its running less boost than stock...but it feels fast as sh*t! i haven't driven it that much, but have never experienced fuel cut or any sort of hesitation thru the powerband since putting in the new TPS

also, this might be a retarted question, but how can a car be faster than stock, withouth running stock boost? i got to ride in a stock 91 T2 a few weeks back and am sure that my car was faster. although i don't think i've even running stock boost. is that just because the mods i have help the turbo spool faster enabling more flow (without as much compressed air)?

from what i have read (which isnt much) about the ported wastegate mod, is it doesn't really add boost. but helps control spiking at high psi. i thought it actually lowered your boost a tad.

you have intake, dp, and mp how are you stock? you also won't reach that high of a boost without a fcd. you are probably hitting fuel cut without a cat. if you get the fcd you will be about 8-10psi with those mods, maybe more. be careful!

hehe, thanks...yeah, i know it doesn't add boost...but cuts it down quite a bit. maybe i said it wrong...but yeah, the car isn't stock, but might be only running stock boost because of the ported wastegate. i just meant that after riding in an all stock 91T2 owned by someone else...mine felt faster (even though i don't think i'm even running stock boost).

what does fuel cut feel like anyway? hesitation? i haven't experienced any bucks or anything like that when i rev it out.

hmmm..maybe you already have a fcd installed then, because i would think with those mods you would be hitting fuel cut. unless the wastegate is ported like mad

well, fuel cut in my civic...yea i know. at 7500rpms which is my civics cut off it sort of jerks. makes a weird sound sort of like chhhh

That slower stock car he's talking about was mine

As far as my understanding goes, once you get a FCD, the stock boost gauge doesn't work anymore. BTW Erik, do you still have a way to get another TPS?
