anyone know of this problem?

When i let the clutch out to go from neutral to first there is a little clanking noise from the rear of the car (it seems). It does it shifting into every gear, with going to first seeming to be the worst. When downshifting, it doesn't seem to do it at all. I was told it could be the universal or a half-shaft if a fc even has them? It started doing this last night and has never done it before this. Any input will be appreciated, thanks alot!
Brett

i agree with jrat it's prob the front diff mount, if not it's prob the u joints on the driveshaft. they might be about to break.

If it is broken, is it okay to drive on since this is my daily driver? For like 2 or 3 weeks, till I can afford to fix it? or is that just a bad idea?

I wouldn't drive it if there is *anything* broken in the front end. Especially if there is a clunk sound. My nephew continued to drive his car when it "clunked" on left turns. He was killed when a ball joint broke in a curve on the highway.

My brother broke a ball joint on an exit ramp - relatively slow speed - and almost rolled his camaro.

Front end problems are never trivial in my opinion.
