My friend here has a J-spec motor. He didn't have too many problems. I can't remember if it came with a bad sensor on it, or if there was a slight incompatability with something on the motor and something on the car, but he got it straightened out relatively easily. Motor ran great too. I think the problem was something when he swapped the J-spec turbo motor with the stock N/A motor.

There are bad ones and there are good ones. Buy from someone/someplace that will warantee them from not starting.

I bought a Cosmo and had good luck with it. I know of some people that buy them and then they blow or they don't start.

It's like the lottery. Pretty good odds but not 100%.

Got my engine from JEL in Stanton, CA. Im not too far from you really so let me know if you're interested and I can help work out an excellent deal for you.

The engine I got was in absolute mint condition with perfect compression and is running 100%. If it were to blow, it would be entirely my fault at this point. To see how its performing, check some of my kills

I got mine from nippon motors. It runs great, couldn't have got a better motor. however I know a guy that got a bad one, he returned it, and got one that he could never get to run right, and blew up a year later.

I'll let you know the details in PM. Let me know when you're planning on heading out and I'll help you out.

BTW- You guys should run a jspec search, I think I had facts on about 8+ different importers on my post when I was looking for a new motor. Might prove helpful for some.
