Question anyone have this size turbo?

found on ebay,

garrett T04 60-1 .62 trim .60 A/R cold .86 "super spool"hotside

it comes in a kit for the FC with a external waste gate style chrome exhaust header, 40mm external wastegate, bov, nuts and bolts, and gaskets for about 600 bux. the seller is SSAUTOCHROME.

curious if any one has this siz turbo and how it performs. im looking to get about 300 hp on 93 pump gas around 10 psi and 350-375 hp on 110 race gas at 12-14 psi

just trying to get some realistic expectations and numbers.

thanx,

chris

it would seem so, but there is a lot of good brand-new-in-box stuff on ebay for rediculously low prices. then again there is alot of used stuff that looks good thanx to photo shop, but do not meet your expectations, especaily for the price!

i got burned on a set of s4 t2 rotor housings. they looked ok on the sellers page, but when they got there they didnt look so great.

this turbo kit is put together with stuff new in tha box components. so says ssauto.

if there is good stuff said bout the size and if it would meet my power goal then im going to perchase the kit, and i will sound off bout the quality of the components. but for all intensive perposes, lets say all the stuff is good and brandnew.

N E body else?

well, at least they don't glue their turbos together anymore... rofl!

even when those things are new i would say they do not perform well, a stocker probably puts out more power than those chinese crap turbos do.

want a cheap direct bolt in turbo? find a nearby turbo shop and have them upgrade your stocker with garrett internals or have Brian at BNR build you a turbo but his turbos are a little on the pricey side at $800+ where most shops can do it for half that.

Master Power is probably one of the cheaper name brand turbos on the market, you can get one capable of 500WHP for about $550 plus some misc parts, manifold, wastegate, downpipe, etc.

wow! good lookin out rotary rez

ill check it out further, but reliability aside, is the turbo size/ wastegate size gonna meet my needs?

it will be on a street ported s4 t2 engine, apex seal size is undecided, apexi safc2 and acv-r, 650cc primary--750cc secondary, posibly a spark amplifyer.

The size and specs are almost perfect for a 300-400rwhp rotary. For turbo sizing specifics, you will want to check out the single turbo section of the forum.

it is dependent on the size of the compressor wheels as well as the A/Rs of the turbo, simpe A/R's do not mean much unless all the info is associated as well. most .60 A/R compressor housing turbos will net you at least 300WHP though.

See if you can get everything except the turbo from them. Use the cheap other parts. As long as it doesn't have anything to shoot into your intake you'll be ok.

All bullshit aside, I;ve used their wastegates and manifolds without any real issue. Their wastegates are exact copies of HKS 40 and 50mm setups. Their WG springs suck ***, but the gates can use the genuine HKS springs so there's no problem there.

I wouldnt use their oil lines either...a busted pressure line can cost you a turbo AND an engine in about 30 seconds, and can also cause a fire and a big mess.

the wastegate is also a huge liability, i had heard their older ones tended to sieze up which would cause either boost spikes or serious lack of boost. no point in going cheap with parts that hold your motor together.. the exhaust is the only thing i would trust as it won't destroy your motor if it fails... in fact i use both their turboback and manifold and haven't had any issue with either but i have seen the manifolds warp, mainly due to faulty install.
