Uh..wanna wait like a week or two? Haha. Mine is gutted, but right now has it is occupied by 2 complete RX7 interiors, and I haven't scraped off the sound deadening yet. When I get around to it, it's gonna be sanded, primered, and painted/clearcoated a high gloss black or white :-D

Has anyone ever gutted their car and used bedliner? I was thinking of gutting the whole car, putting down bed liner in the front and just throwing the carpet back down in the back so it looks non gutted.

I'm going to, right now I have just a cheap rattlecan bedliner on it thats already starting to chip off, but I hope to have a real thick bed liner soon. Im hoping it'll quiet the car down noticeably.

I am just afraid there is some rust down there that I didn't notice and I have the thick **** carpet. I don't like it, all I need is a water bed and I have a ******* wankel.

i put all the crap in one big box when i took it out, with speakers, carpet, all plastic, headliner it was close to 75 pounds. the carpet is the real killer. the plastic didnt weight **** but i hate maroon so it had to go. i didnt weight it but i sure as hell couldnt move that box easily.

i will have pictures for you on friday when i can get back to my car. athough i did leave in the busckets behind the seats, because they are frikken amazing to hold fluids, map books, random tools, and steering wheels.

oh yea, none of you have really shown pictures of a gutted Rx7... you have shown pictures of an Rx7 without the carpeting. or without a dash. the link was the closest to a gutted car, but still some sound deading was left.

for the others spend a good day and get around 15-20lbs of dry ice and go to town on your car. Break the DI ino decently small kernels spread them out and wait about 15 seconds. you shoudl hear the soudn deading pop. then smack the part that you froze with a hammer. let the DI do most of the work.
