I have one that I got from Mazdatrix. It's a torque brace, and seems to work pretty well. I may have the instructions for it somewhere, if you're interested in them.

Yeah, it looks pretty close. You can't move or bend the brace, but maybe you can just use some longer tubing and go over top of it.
Also, you could try taking off the nuts where those rubber bushings are, and seeing how the car does without the brace. You might find that you don't need it, and can remove it.

FWIW, the S4 did not have a check valve in the brake booster hose. That was added later to comply with DOT regulations...
The only disadvantage about torque braces is that they cause the engine to twist in it's mounts. This can shear them off after time...
