another question, these get pushed foward (the actuators push foward) to open them correct?

You can easily put your hand down there and push the rod above the two pots up and down to see how they work. The rod pushes towards the sky to open the vavle.

If they don't move easily you might have a problem.

Aren't the actuators powered differently on S4 than S5?
Do the S5 have exhaust powered ones too or are they something way different? All I know is the pots look the same.

On S5's the ports are actuated by the air pump through the ACV if I remember correctly. The S4's are actuated through exhaust backpressure.

So what if you want to keep them open at all times, what do you gotta do?. You loose low end torque, but you gain it back at high rpm, is the low torque loss big or insignificant?

Hook them up like mine.

I just tied them into the air-pump. They come on at about 3K RPM. Works out good though... noticed a better difference since I ported out the IM's.

Some people even hook theirs upto a RPM switch.

Give me a few mins and I'll try and find the thread.
