Anyone else notice Mazdatrix prices?

They seem to fluctuate wildy.

For example, before Christmas, the 89-92 idiot light bezel was $57. After Christmas it jumped to $167. My wife informed me yesterday she bought me one for my birthday and it was only "50 bucks". I didn't believe her so I went and looked, sure enough, $42!

I know I am basing my claim on one part, but what the heck would cause such a large swing in price?

I pretty much consider them a dealership, a ripoff. I only buy through them if i have to.

I've noticed the fluctuation. I've also never ordered anything from them because no matter what computer or browser I use, their site crashes when I attempt to submit the order.

The only time I can reliably order from their site is using internet explorer, which is annoying at the house because I have to boot up a VMWare instance.

Step 1: Join NASA

Step 2: Sign up for a Mazdaspeed Racer Account with a picture of the car and tell them you intend to compete within 1 year. Enjoy discounted prices on mazda parts directly from mazda.

Step 3: Work your way up from HPDE1 to Time Trials in the first season.

Step 4: Compete in time trials at least once per year and submit results.

Step 5: Continue to enjoy lifelong discounted mazda parts directly from mazda.

i've said this before and i'll say it again. Mazda is a bit unusual in that they actually make a fair number of parts themselves, therefore the only source of Mazda parts is Mazda Japan. therefore since everybody is selling the same product, the number of middlemen is the largest influence on price.

the best example is a rotor housing, Mazda casts these in house, so the cheapest place to buy them is wholesale in Japan, in fact there is a place in Japan that will sell you all 5 housings with the same production batch for high hp builds.

in the past any aftermarket stuff, particularly brake and clutch hydraulics was terrible, but in 2016, the chinese stuff is actually ok, and its almost free its so cheap
