Any way to keep the vert wheels?

Well the vert wheels I have have 205s on them and thats just way too narrow of a tire for a TII in reality. Especially with the power I am looking to put down. But I love how light they are and how they look. Is there any way I can put some D/Rs on them for the street at least? How about these Yokohomas?

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...tp=Competition

They come in 225/50/15s. Will they fit? And a main concern is how long will those last? This isn't my only car or daily driver or anything. I just don't want any big *** rims so I can get wider tires and the verts are so light. Oh are there any infini caps that will fit in them? Thanks for any help.

I dont think you will find a shop that will mount 225's on a 6.5rim...and the tires will last a long time if you drive accordingly... unless the rubber is very soft...like Pirelli's....most good tires(on a 7) will last 15k-25k miles with moderate to agresive driving

I doubt that though. These are drag radials and are VERY soft. If I got 5k out of them I'd be surprised. Just trying to look into options for keeping the vert wheels on since I like them. I already have a set of 245/50 Nitto D/Rs on a pair of stock TII wheels for the track.

The infini caps will fit the center caps you have. the only problem is getting them, unless you know someone in Japan

could you plus size the tire to fit a little bit wider tires on that wheel? also you might have luck looking through some older/used 16in/17in bbs wheels, im sure there are some with the same design but an inch bigger than the 15in vert rims.

The AO32s are an extrememly soft tire. I have a set on my new Volks. Speaking of them, might want to check out my thread with pics of my new wheels, they look similar the the BBS wheels, but offer a larger width and diameter:

I love those Volks you got and it was a pretty good deal if they are all in good shape.

Yokohama A032Rs are NOT drag radials and they are definitely not the type of tire that you mount on a rim that's not wide enough.

Aren't the Infini rims bigger? They're still BBS rims...so I'd think they'd still be nice and light. But they're 16s right? Don't know if they're any wider though.

Of course you're talking bucks now, but you'd keep the same style, low weight, etc.

Ya efini's are 16x7, but they want like $1000 for them so I'll pass. If I'm paying $1000 for used rims I need at least an 8" rim, hopefully with a 9" or so in the rear. I believe they are 17#'s though which is nice. Whats the lowest offset that will fit up front? Will a +29 fit on a 9" rim?

I was looking at getting some D/R's when I got my new rims and the guy who sells all the tires to our dealership, didnt reccomend it if I was going to be driving the car 1 in the rain and 2 on the highway. Just like you said I was told about 5k miles if I was lucky

According to the spec sheet on that tire, you can run 6-8" rims on them. You might get some buldging with 6" rims, though.

Ya thats what I figured But they are 6.5" at least. I ran 225s on the stock TII wheels with no problems visually even.

If they are 6.5 wide there's plenty of rim for a 225. I ran 275/60-15's on a stock 15x7 Monte Carlo SS wheel. Also ran a 275/50-15 on a Weld 15x7. No problems at all as far as that goes. Only thing you may have to worry about is the inside clearance of the tire sidewall but that's easy enough to check. With the existing wheel and tire on the car, try to fit your hand on the backside between the tire and the strut/spring. If you can get your fingers in there, there's plenty of room to upgrade.

If you're going to get competition DR's get Nitto NT555s or BFG G-force Drag Radials. AO32Rs are not what you can call drag radials.

What are they for, offroad courses? I don't believe it said. I have nittos but they don't make 15s in a size I could use. Don't think they do in BFGs either.

They're for road racing, so although they're a soft compound, the sidewalls are stiff and it's optimized for cornering rather than straight-line stuff.

For drag radials, the BFG G-Force Drag radials are a great choice. They make them in 225/50/15, and they only cost $119 apiece.
